Atomica, West End

Saturday – open house viewing day – or rather viewing of houses I know I cannot afford day! So food and strong coffee is a requirement to get me started. As we were going to be viewing in the West End we headed there for breakfast and randomly into Atomica.

It is always really packed with person which is a good sign but we were lucky enough to catch two guys getting up from their table so jumped in and grabbed it. The café is on the main strip on Boundary street between Espresso Head and the Deli (kind of). You might miss it as you walk pass as it is long and narrow so does not have a wide frontage.

Anyway, back to Saturday – staff were great, came over to clean the table straight away, took our coffee orders and brought water and menus. I was very torn on what to go for – the grilled chicken Panini, sausages and bubble and squeak, eggs Benedict … very confusing. I settled onto the sausages and was in for a big breakie plate.

Two slices of bread, two lamb and rosemary sausages, two poached eggs, two mushrooms and the bubble and squeak – all good. Too much really, I didn’t finish the plate but that’s not always a bad thing. The eggs Benedict looked great too, although again not on proper muffins but on Turkish. Maybe this is a trend I have not caught onto yet.

Price was pretty standard, somewhere in the mid 30s for two plates and two coffees. Rarely changes any more unless one of us doesn’t eat or has a muffin.

All good – probably worth checking out for lunch too.
