Wow what a great Bistro!!!!

I made the mistake of not booking for a Friday lunch time but they were kind enough to seat us at the bar, just outside. It was slightly windy but we didn’t care much as we had a heater right behind us. There were a few seats outside with the most inside (rightfully in this weather). And it was really full – so learn from my mistake and book.

The lunch menu is perfect – I just wasn’t sure what I wanted – pasta, burger, salad, fish and chips or steam (and those were just my preferred options!). Plus each dish was only $13.90! Bargain really. I went for the Les Amis salad which was a mix of haloumi, roasted fennel, speck and dressing. The size was perfect for me and I ordered it together with a side of chips. Might be a bit too small for anyone really hungry but it really did me fine.

I needed to get back within an hour so refrained from ordering dessert. However, I had a look around and they looked very good – definitely will want one next time. We ordered coffee instead and headed off.

Staff were lovely, polite and receptive even though the place was full – so no complaints there either.

You can generally park relatively easily in Alexandra Street right across the road from Les Amis. Apparently it leads onto the RNA grounds, so probably not a good parking option if there is something on at the RNA.

I want to go back for Breakfast and I want to go back for Dinner!!! That’s how good it was. I have been looking for a relatively close Bistro that did not break the bank and I am very glad I finally found one!
